Cardiff Autonomous Racing (Path Planning Lead)
As the Lead of the Path Planning Team for the Cardiff University Autonomous Racing Team, I have played a pivotal role in developing an autonomous driving system for a race car competing at Silverstone. My work combines technical expertise, leadership, and project management to drive innovation and ensure team success.
My Contributions:
- Team Leadership & Coordination: Led a team of 8 engineers, organizing regular meetings, managing workloads, and ensuring alignment with project goals while balancing my software engineering degree.
- Path Planning Development: Oversaw the design and implementation of the path planning module, responsible for enabling the vehicle to navigate the track efficiently. Managed our source code collaboratively using Git to maintain a robust and scalable codebase.
- Resource Management: Provided team members with essential tools and resources, including simulators and technical documentation, to facilitate effective development and testing.
- Project Documentation & Compliance: Contributed to key technical documents and competition forms required for team participation at Silverstone, ensuring compliance with industry and competition standards.
- Founding Member: Played a critical role in the formation of the Cardiff Autonomous Racing Team, helping to establish foundational processes, team structure, and long-term strategic goals.
Through this role, I have developed strong leadership skills, technical proficiency in autonomous systems, and the ability to deliver complex projects under time-sensitive conditions. My work on the Cardiff Autonomous Racing Team reflects my commitment to advancing autonomous vehicle technology and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve ambitious goals.
